THE *OFFICIAL* SUMMER GUIDE TO AUSTIN

Alright y'all, with so many questions flooding our instagram about the best way to experience Austin, we've finally put together this insider's guide with our fave summer spots and activities! Drop us a comment with your go-tos!

FOOD

Sammies - One of our fave Italian spots in the city, perfect for a fancy dinner. You'd never guess it was formerly a Hut's Hamburgers! It looks like a clubby Italian hangout from a classic movie and is a great spot for a fancy date night, dinner with your parents, or with your girls when you're celebrating something special!

Lucky Robot - This unique sushi spot on South Congress is a great place to take a break after an all-day shopping spree!

Matt's El Rancho - It’s not a guide to Austin without a Matt's mention. An Austin staple since 1952, this is a must-eat whether you’re craving queso, one of their signature margs or just plain-old good Tex-Mex. Fun fact: it's our Founder, Jordan's, fave marg!

DRINKS

Roosevelt Room - This 1920s-inspired cocktail bar and music venue on 5th Street is a great way to have a good time and some yummy cocktails without having to head to Austin’s notorious 6th Street.

Howard’s - For those looking to brave the streets of “Dirty 6th,” Howard’s is a great stop! Combining the charm of a neighborhood tavern with dance club energy, it’s a fun spot to check out for a girl's night out when you're wanting to dance!

The Garage - If you’re looking for something REALLY unique, Garage is one of our fave cocktail bars. Located in the parking garage on Colorado Street between 5th and 6th, look for the usual "Enter" and "Exit" parking signs. Then, keep an eye out for "Cocktails" painted in all caps. Follow that cue, and you'll soon spot the speakeasy's glowing neon sign. Don’t know what to order? Grab the “Indian Paintbrush,” the bar’s most-ordered drink and once crowned “Drink of Austin” in 2015!

TO DOS

Barton Springs Pool - One of our fave things to do in the summer! Fed by four natural springs, Barton Springs Pool is a beloved Austin landmark, ideal for escaping the Texas HEAT.

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center - Founded by the former First Lady it’s named after, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center has 284 acres of gardens and trails to explore! Perfect for an afternoon stroll.

South Congress Avenue - If you only have a short window of time to experience Austin, South Congress Avenue is a must! A popular spot for locals and visitors, SoCo brings the best of Austin together in its shops, restaurants and venues. ]
